July is now for bees! Although almost any summer month could be – I felt August to be a yellow month…
I’m behind on my posts, but I have been keeping up with my journal, which is good progress in my books! (pun intended). I got a lot done last month and managed to keep my tasks a lot more organised, so I must be getting somewhere. All I need now is to succeed at posting a month before the month begins..
August Title Page
After last months turtle I decided to keep up the pencil drawings of animals as title pages for awhile (as a form of drawing practice too!)
At first I couldn’t decide on Augusts theme; Harvests and blooming flowers seemed to be popular ones, but I wanted something to match an animal. I’ve spent a lot of time around a bee hive recently whilst fixing a chicken coop next to it, and yellow seemed like the colour for August… So I landed on bees!

August Calendar

I for sure couldn’t draw a bunch of detailed mini bees to decorate my pages, so I turned to doodles instead. Amongst my attempts to draw hexagons throughout the month, I also added some doodle bees and hives. The calendar page never really changes much, and even if I don’t use if a lot throughout the month, I find it helpful to be able to look at the month all in one.
August Mood Tracker

Keeping track of my mood is an annoying but important process. I struggle with emotional stability, and the best way to combat that is through self-awareness, something that also takes time to learn.
Logging my feelings throughout the month (as best as I can that is) is the first step to self-awareness. You can also look back at any journal entries and try to link what may cause each mood.
So enjoy my mood tracker in honeycomb form.
August Habit Tracker
Writing is a habit, like every other habit you have to keep it up regularly to improve at it. Previously I’ve not been so good at keeping up with my habits, It often takes me a little more time to establish new ones. Keeping at it is vital, and its all you have to do to get somewhere – just keep going.
I draw this page out every month with that goal in mind. Sometimes I don’t start filling it in until half way through the month, but then the next month I might start a few days earlier, and eventually, I’ll manage to start at the beginning!

August Finances

Finances never change. The closest they get to changing is often by increasing, but we plod on with life as it is.
I like my finance tracker, if all else fails, it allows me to keep track of my bills, income and outgoing, and of course any subscriptions (which almost everyone has to have now..).
I probably could have added another bee…
August To-Do List and Schedule
During what turned out to be a busy month, I found this page to be quite useful last month. So in hopes of keeping up the momentum, I’m using it again!
I like to try and use each spread design for a few months at least before changing it around too much, from this I hope to find out which layouts are most beneficial to me, and of course easiest to use.

August Exercise Tracker

I almost made full use of my exercise tracker last month! I could however, stand to use more specific goals soon. Recently I’ve just been using Physio, Yoga, Cardio and a step count as my blocks. Whilst this is good for getting back into a habit of exercise, it wont do much more.
For example, I plan to change one of my blocks into something along the lines of ’25 squats’ or ‘3 x 10 push ups’.
Maybe at some point I’ll have to re design my exercise tracker to allow for more specific exercise routines.
August Brain Dump
This page is what it always is, a page to dump thoughts and ideas on throughout the month. except now it has more bees than ideas.

August Weekly Spread

Whilst drawing out my weekly spread I found myself struggling to chose between designs for my corner space, so I alternated instead! I doodled a little beehive on one and the usual honeycomb on the other. Admittedly my honeycombs all around could have been a lot better, but I was in a rush to get it all done and still working my way up to more elaborate border designs
